It Happened One Wedding was an enjoyable read with a strong heroine and a sexy hero. I liked the heroine's sass and bit of snark and really enjoyed some of the hero's mental dialogue and his almost hurt feelings when the other main characters tried to hide the secret from him. The characters are lively and likeable. I did wish for the suspense angle from prior books in the series, though.

Bite Me was an amusing tale of hybrid shifters, were-honey badgers and a search for vengeance and retribution. Trust me, no one wants to be on the bad side of a honey badger clan! I laughed a lot though I don't recommend this as a standalone because the many appearances of previous series characters will leave you confused if you don't know them. An amusing story, if a bit light on the romance part.

Dangerous Desire was a nice escape from my day and, given that I'm a pet lover as well, I really enjoyed the animals and the fact the main characters were both pet lovers. I also appreciated Ms. Escalera's inclusion of multi-cultural characters without making a presentation of it - the characters are who they are and they just happen to be multi-cultural. I really liked that aspect of Dangerous Desire.

Once again Ms. Ione has built on folklore and mythology to evolve her fascinating world of humans, demons, angels and strange beasts. The richness of the Horsemen and how they balance the good and bad sides of their gifts (or curses) in a fascinating read...I devoured Eternal Rider in a single afternoon and was already looking to pre-order the next book in this series. Eternal Rider was fast-paced, wonderfully complex and emotion-packed.

Savor the Danger was a fast-paced, action-packed but hot, sexy romance. Ms. Foster has packed it with fantastic characters that are both strong and vulnerable and even sarcastic but loving. I liked that the plot took twists I didn't anticipate and even when I guessed what might be going on, I wasn't sure. I had to keep reading. I must admit, as a dedicated animal lover, I also loved the fact this entire series had animal characters as well and...

Review: Dark Embers by Tessa Adams
3 Stars , Reviews - Books / May 30, 2011

Ms. Adams has created a rich world of ancient shifters and almost as ancient feuds that really drew me into the world and made me want to learn more about the Dragonstar clan and the history of these ancient beings... loved the dragon-shifter world and mythos Ms. Adams has created in this story and I liked both the main characters quite a bit. They both share a deep love of family, honor and purpose. While I enjoyed Dark Embers, espe...

Review: My Dangerous Pleasure by Carolyn Jewel
3.5 Stars , Reviews - Books / May 20, 2011

I was soon caught up in the uneasy relationship between the mages and the kin, with the humans as (mostly) unaware bystanders. Ms. Jewel has created a fascinating magical world where nothing is quite what it seems and there are no clear victors.... I really want to see more of this world and the characters I've caught glimpses of so far. I'm hoping this is not the last book in this series, though, because there are other characters i...

Review: Trace of Fever by Lori Foster
4.5 Stars , Reviews - Books / May 8, 2011

I really enjoyed Trace of Fever and devoured it the moment I was able to get it for review. I truly enjoyed the pacing and the story but was struck by Trace's not being too manly to make friends with a cat and his concern that even Priss pet is kept safe. That touched me. I enjoyed Priss' attempts to fend for herself though I admit there were a few times I wanted to shake her by her hair when she pulled what was almost a TSTL action....
